about f/w10 collection
--------------------
Leonid Alexeev men’s collection Fall/Winter 2010/11 is devoted to deepness and intensity of the color blue. In the spring of 2010, it was presented on Russian Seasons fashion week in Moscow and Aurora Fashion Week in St. Petersburg.
The collection was inspired by the artists Yves Klein and Mark Rothko, Pablo Picasso's Blue Period and reflections by Wassily Kandinsky on the nature of blue. It’s physical characteristics – the lack of dive limit, brightness and saturation are larger than in other colors and depend on subjective causes, due to the theory of perception. One says that you can stare at blue as long as allows your imagination.
--------------------
Water, spiritual wanderings and calmliness, all of which represent the peculiar nature of blue, are reflected in the promo video for the Fall/Winter collection, where people are pictures, projections on screens, dressed in blue. By watching them you can almost fall in or check the limits of your imagination. Dare to dive into the blue blood of those who has this color inside, drown in it.
In each collection Leonid Alexeev uses elements of styles and images of the past. This collection is based on Russian royalist style, suits of the participants of the last "Noble clubs” in Tzarist Russia and pre- revolutionary uniforms of officers and cadets, giving a touch of military nobility.
